Scar camouflage

Softening how a scar looks and feels, so it belongs to your story without demanding attention.

What it is

Scar camouflage at Auremarè works on the three things that make a scar noticeable: its colour, its texture and how sharply it contrasts with the skin around it. Using specialist paramedical techniques and serums, the visible appearance of the scar is softened step by step across a personalised plan.

The aim is blending, not erasing. A scar that has been part of your skin for years will not vanish in an afternoon, and we will never suggest otherwise. What we can usually do is make it far less noticeable, and we will tell you honestly at your consultation what we expect for your skin.

Scars we commonly work with

  • Surgical scars, including C-section and other abdominal surgery scars
  • Accident and injury scars
  • Hypertrophic and raised scars
  • Self-harm scars, treated with complete discretion and without judgement
  • General skin trauma scarring

The process

  1. Consultation and assessment. The scar's age, depth, colour and texture, and your skin type, assessed in person.
  2. First treatment. Included in your initial appointment; it also shows how your skin responds.
  3. Your plan. Most scar plans run three to six sessions, spaced around six weeks apart. Larger or more complex areas may need more.

Duration and downtime

Session length depends on the area: around 30 minutes for a small scar, up to several hours for large areas. Mild redness and sensitivity afterwards is normal and settles quickly for most people. Written aftercare comes with every session.

Results vary. One session does not usually produce the final result; improvement builds gradually across your plan. Suitability depends on skin type, scar type, scar age, treatment area and aftercare.
